Tourism Organisations

Guide for administrators on updating and verifying Tourism Organisation memberships on business profiles.

Tourism Organisations are the backbone of Australia’s tourism industry, connecting businesses to regional, state, and national initiatives that drive growth and collective impact. (See: RTO Memberships)

Administration users can update and maintain Tourism Organisation details on business profiles. To ensure each entry is verified, current, and accurately reflects a business’s affiliations, it is important that:

  • Each organisation and membership is confirmed and valid before publishing

  • If a business status or affiliation changes, that membership details are removed or updated

How to Update Tourism Organisation

Here's how Administrators can quickly and easily update memberships on behalf of Tourism Businesses.

  1. Confirm membership status

  2. Log In: Log in to ATDW

  3. Open Profile: Use the Admin tab to search and open the relevant profile (See: How to Search for a Profile)

  4. Tourism Organisations: Once in the profile, use the sub menu to navigate to the 'Tourism Organisations' page. You'll find this under Admin (shown below).

  5. Add a Membership: Use the checkboxes to select the correct organisation(s) from the list provided. Selected memberships will appear at the top of the page under 'Your Selection' (shown below). If the business' membership isn't covered in our platform, please connect with us.

  6. Remove a Membership: To delete a Membership, use the checkbox to deselect the nominated Membership.

  7. Submit for Review: Finally, send the profile for review by clicking the Send for Review button, to send to our team to approve and publish the changes.

Key Tips for Updating Profiles

  • Expired or Disabled Profiles: These profiles are inactive. Editing an inactive profile will reactivate it in the system.

    • Do not edit, add or remove content, including the Tourism Organisation, from a profile with an expired or disabled status. If you identify a profile that should be active, please contact the ATDW team at [email protected] and they will assist.

  • Out-of-region members: Profiles located outside your jurisdiction cannot be self-managed in the platform.

    • If you have out-of-region members that require an update, please email the ATDW team at [email protected]. They can apply these update on your behalf.

  • Apply Tourism Organisation to members only: Only tag profiles for businesses or organisations that are active, current members of your Tourism Organisation.

    • Do not tag profiles for Natural Attractions, Destinations, Events or other visitor assets in your region where there is no applicable Tourism Organisation membership.

How to Report on profiles linked to your Tourism Organisation

Administrators can use the ATDW platform to search for and export a report of Tourism Businesses linked to their Tourism Organisation.

You can generate a report to identify the profiles currently tagged with your RTO Tourism Organisation attribute. This is a useful way to regularly review membership records and confirm that the profiles linked to your organisation remain accurate throughout the year.

  1. Advanced Search: From the Admin menu, Select Search. Then select Advanced Search in the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Set Search Parameters: Apply the following filters to return accurate results status.

    1. Under Status select:

      • Live

      • Live - Draft Updates

      • Pending QA.

    2. Scroll down to Tourism Organisations and select the relevant Tourism Organisation from the list.

  3. Run the Search: Click the Search button to generate the results.

  4. Export the Report: Select the Cog Wheel icon, and chose Export CSV (Simple) to download the resulting profile list as a CSV file.
